SUMMARY:Business Resource Sessions - Credit Card Compliance
DESCRIPTION:Business Resource Sessions – resources & tools to grow your business! \nJoin us at the Chamber on the first Wednesday of the month from 3:00 to 4:00 to hear from and engage with industry leaders about how to grow\, protect\, and efficiently run your business. \nSPEAKER: Roderick Floyd \nTOPIC: Navigating PCI Compliance: Safeguarding Your Business from Hidden Risks and Fees \nDESCRIPTION: The compliance landscape has changed\, and any business accepting any amount of credit cards is subject to the Payment Card Industry (PCI). Many businesses assume that they are out of the scope of PCI\, their platform handles it\, or that they don’t have to be PCI compliant but that’s just not true.\nNearly ¾ of businesses are non-compliant\, a risk that could erode your business from the inside and lead to cyberattack and liability. In March of 2024\, PCI 4.0 rolled out with a whole new set of requirements and you’re likely PCI non-compliant as a result! Not only are you likely being charged exorbitant non-compliance fees (which is likely the reason your credit card processing fees have recently gone up) but there are also many other hidden dangers to being PCI non-compliant. Come learn how to get your business compliant.  \nSPEAKER BIO: Roderick Floyd has earned two degrees in Computer Technology and Network Security. He has enjoyed 20+ Years in the IT Industry. As the Owner / President of CMIT Solutions of Arlington\, he loves helping people solve problems. In addition to his work in IT\, Roderick has a passion for music achieving two degrees in Audio Technology /Music Composition and Theory. \nInterested in being one of our fantastic speakers?  Submit your application here

SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting: Mode Salon
DESCRIPTION:Join the Chamber Ambassadors for a Ribbon Cutting with Mode Salon. \n\n2025 will be a year long celebration\, as Mode Salon will be turning 15- we officially opened our doors on May 29\, 2010.  We recently renovated our salon\, and since we’ve never had a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony\, we feel this is a special way to commemorate such a milestone.  We want to celebrate Mode Salon and the community that has welcomed us\, loved us\, and supported us through the years.\n\nIn January 2010\, Israel Guajardo and Alex Acero moved to Arlington from California\, with nothing but a suitcase full of clothes and big dreams.  It was Israel’s vision to create a space for the community to get the high end salon experience without leaving Arlington\, and without the pretentiousness\, exorbitant price tag\, and snobbery that seem to be the norm in high end salons.\n\nWith hard work\, determination\, and resilience\, Israel and Alex were able to bring that vision to life.  Since our establishment\, we have been offering premium salon services in a relaxed ambiance filled with artistry\, positive energy\, and fabulous hair.\n\nOn January 27\, 2023\, Israel passed away- an integral part of the Mode family and a true master of the hair craft.\n\nEven though he is no longer with us\, at Mode we keep his memory alive and honor his legacy by continuing to do what he did for over 30 years in the industry: make sure every person in our chair looks good and feels gorgeous. Team Mode is committed more than ever to taking our clients’ hair to new levels with expertise and confidence in our talent and Vidal Sassoon training. We are committed\, just like Israel was\, to make the world a more beautiful and fabulous place one person at a time.\n\nWe welcome all to join our celebration!
