SUMMARY:The Wednesday Mind Meld with the Young Professionals
DESCRIPTION:TOPIC: Discipline vs Motivation \nJoin the Greater Arlington Chamber Young Professionals for our next Mind Meld on October 8th! This month\, we’re diving into the fascinating topic of “Discipline vs. Motivation” In this open and informal discussion\, we’ll openly explore the difference between relying on inspiration and emotion to fuel action\, versus cultivating consistent habits and self-control to achieve long-term goals. Motivation is often fleeting—ignited by excitement or external rewards—while discipline is the foundation of sustained progress\, especially when enthusiasm fades. This discussion invites young professionals to reflect on how they balance both forces in their work and personal growth\, emphasizing that success is often built not when we’re most motivated\, but when we’re most committed. \nBring your thoughts\, experiences\, and questions to share with your YP community and learn best practices for leading upwards.

SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting: Arlington ISD - Michael Glaspie Field Athletic Complex at Martin HS
DESCRIPTION:Join the Chamber Ambassadors for a Ribbon Cutting with Arlington ISD – Michael Glaspie Field Athletic Complex at Martin HS. \n\n \nMichael Glaspie Field Athletic Complex is the new athletic field at Martin High School was included in the 2019 Bond because the district needs three competition fields for its six high schools. Arlington ISD owns Wilemon Field at Sam Houston High School and Cravens Field at Lamar High School\, but it rented UTA Maverick Stadium for its third competition field.\n\nThe stadium honors Rev. Michael Glaspie of Mount Olive Baptist Church\, who has served Arlington for over 40 years as a community leader\, AISD Board Trustee\, City Councilman\, and mayoral candidate.\nThe new stadium\, designed by VLK Architects\, will include approximately 10\,000 seats\, a larger press box\, locker rooms\, restrooms\, and concessions. Architects were careful to consider the campus’s existing layout\, neighbors\, traffic flow – cars\, school buses\, and pedestrians – and parking in their design. They have included a landscape buffer and fencing between the stadium and neighboring homes and will utilize modern LED lighting. The LED lighting is significantly better than traditional lighting in that it can be directed into the stadium and onto the playing surface more efficiently\, has considerably less spillage from the venue\, and can be turned on and off quickly.\n\n\nWe welcome all to join our celebration!

SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting: Beverly Sisk Real Estate
DESCRIPTION:Join the Chamber Ambassadors for a Ribbon Cutting with Beverly Sisk Real Estate.\n\nBeverly Sisk Real Estate LLC\, in collaboration with H.E.E.L.E.N\, offers a distinctive approach to serving the residential real estate sector in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area. Business proprietors Beverly Sisk and Felicia Rouse are cousins who have built their lives on family values and traditions. Their great-grandmother\, the late Louise Latum Bell\, is the foundation and inspiration which led them into real estate and the desire to build impactful legacies.\n\nLouise was born and raised during the 1920’s in the southern part of the United States. Despite what was deemed as insurmountable life challenges\, Mrs. Bell emerged as a visionary. She acquired property from a slave owner\, which led her to purchasing and selling property to friends and family and was the sole midwife in the community of Washington Park (located in Moore Haven\, Florida). Her legacy endured through her descendants. In 2005\, Beverly followed her passion for real estate. She is a disabled Army veteran who devoted more than 20 years to her military career. She continues to serve as a Civil Servant for the Federal government.\n\nBy nature\, Beverly is a nurturer\, drawing strength from her faith and always welcoming new acquaintances. Her desire to help others is rooted in her experiences in the military and as a public servant. Felicia has dedicated more than 25 years to the field of education. She founded a faith-based non-profit organization called H.E.E.L.E.N\, which stands for Healing\, Evolving\, Experiencing Love\, Excluding No-one. Felicia perceives H.E.E.L.E.N as a movement aimed at sharing and connecting with individuals who aspire to unlock their potential and discover their purpose.\n\nTogether\, Beverly and Felicia will assist families in building generational wealth by facilitating home purchases\, while also offering supportive resources and emotional coaching during the homebuying journey.\n\nWe welcome all to join our celebration!
