Our strength and potential multiply when we collaborate and work together towards a common purpose or goal. As women and as a community\, we’re so successful because we recognize and celebrate individuality while understanding that the sum of our collective efforts far surpasses what any one person could achieve independently. Together\, we become a force that can tackle larger challenges\, accomplish grander goals\, and bring our shared dreams to fruition. \nKeynote Speaker: Leah M. King is responsible for leadership and vision development for United Way of Tarrant County as well as fiscal oversight\, growing financial support\, developing processes and new initiatives\, facilitating cross-departmental and partner collaboration\, and promoting a positive\, multicultural environment. During Leah’s time as CEO\, United Way of Tarrant County has invested tens of millions of dollars in the Tarrant County community through direct service programming\, volunteer efforts\, donor designations\, agency allocations and the distribution of federal and state grants. As a community advocate\, Leah was elected to the Tarrant Regional Water District’s board of directors and serves as its president. She also is a board member at Cook Children’s Medical Center\, the Fort Worth Club\, Baylor Scott and White Health\, and T3 (Tarrant To & Through) and is an active member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Links\, Incorporated\, Trinity River Vision and Downtown TIF boards. Additionally\, she serves on the President’s Advisory Council for Texas Wesleyan University. Every year since 2020\, she has been named each year by Fort Worth Magazine as one of the Top 400 of Fort Worth’s Most Influential People. She also was recognized with the 2022 Opal Lee Trailblazer Award by Unity Unlimited\, Inc. and is a founding member of the United Way of Tarrant County’s Women United group\, having also served as its Women’s Fund development committee chair. \nSilent Auction: At the very first IWL\, we awarded one $1\,000 scholarship with the donation coming from Dr. Judith J Carrier\, former President of TTC-SE and the first-ever Chairwoman of the Chamber Board of Directors. That has grown significantly over the years thanks to our Silent Auction and Bling Boxes (more details on those below). 100% of the Silent Auction net proceeds go towards the Dr. Judith J Carrier Scholarship Program. If you would like to donate an experience or item\, please reach out to our Silent Auction Chair\, Kelly Geer at kgeer@www.arlingtontx.com. We need all experiences and items donated by Friday\, February 23. \nBling Boxes: When you purchase a $50 Bling Box\, you help send young women to the colleges in our community – UTA and TCC-SE. Just as above\, 100% of the net proceeds go toward the Dr. Judith J Carrier Scholarship Program. \nSwag Bags: Send every attendee home with a piece of your business by adding an item to our Swag Bags! You can be in every bag (800 items) or half the bags (400 items). Suggested items include logo branded merch\, gift certificates\, and vouchers. Contact Sherry Jackson for more information. \nHero & Rising Star Awards: The Hero & Rising Star Awards are the most prestigious awards granted under the Women’s Alliance\, recognizing women who are the very definition of a “servant leader.” These recipients continually prioritize their commitment to their community by paving the way for others to create change while leaving a legacy. To learn more about the Hero and Rising Awards and their past recipients\, click here. \nScholarships: The Dr. Judith J. SUMMARY:Inspired Women Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Registration is not open but if you would like to sponsor\, please contact Sherry Jackson. \nIf you would like to donate to the silent auction\, please contact Kelly Geer. \nJoin the Women’s Alliance of the Greater Arlington Chamber for the 12th Annual Inspired Women Luncheon\, affectionately known as IWL. Join us in person on Friday\, March 3 at 11:30 at Live! by Loews Arlington for this fantastic event presented by Chase. This event has A LOT jam-packed into the day\, and we’ve laid out all the details below. \nEvent Schedule:\n9:30-10:30   Professional Development (separate fee of $20)\n10:30-11:30  Event Registration\, Silent Auction\, Bling Box Sales and Networking\n11:30-1:30   Luncheon with Keynote Address and Awards Presentations (Scholarships\, Small Business Grant\, Hero & Rising Star Awards) \nLift as You Climb: Deep down\, we all aspire to be successful by our own definition. However\, success isn’t always followed by joy and happiness. Sitting atop the mountain can be a lonely place if you bring no one with you. Working together and building partnerships and relationships\, we all reach our mountain tops faster and with fuller hearts. It’s when we bring others up with us that we’re truly in full bloom in our careers and as individuals. \nKeynote Speaker: As the Chief Financial Officer of the Texas Rangers\, Kellie Fischer oversees all financial matters and purchasing for the Rangers. She didn’t attain that position overnight. Over the past few years\, Fischer has been a key player in a number of the Rangers’ growth initiatives. In addition to aiding the development of an Urban Youth Academy in West Dallas\, Fischer was instrumental in the development and construction of the Rangers new Dominican Republic baseball academy\, which opened in November 2019. She served a principal role in facilitating the joint venture between the Rangers\, The Cordish Companies\, and City of Arlington on the $250 million public-private partnership which led to the successful opening of Texas Live! in August 2018 and the $150 million joint venture between the Rangers\, Loews Hotels & Co\, and The Cordish Companies on Live! by Loews – Arlington\, TX\, which opened in August 2019. Kellie also has been among the organization’s leaders who brought life to the development and construction of the team’s new Globe Life Field that opened in 2020. We’re also proud to say Kellie is the former Chair of the Board for the Greater Arlington Chamber (2021). \nSilent Auction: At the very first IWL\, we awarded one $1\,000 scholarship with the donation coming from Dr. Judith J Carrier\, former President of TTC-SE. That has grown significantly over the years thanks to our Silent Auction & Bling Boxes (more details on those below). 100% of the Silent Auction net proceeds go towards the Dr. Judith J Carrier Scholarship Program. If you would like to donate an experience or item\, please reach out to our Silent Auction Chair\, Kelly Geer at kelly@urbantreemerchants.com. We need all experiences and items donated by Friday\, February 18. \nBling Boxes: When you purchase a $50 Bling Box\, you are helping send young women to the colleges in our community – UTA and TCC-SE. Just as above\, 100% of the net proceeds go toward the Dr. Judith J Carrier Scholarship Program. \nHero & Rising Star Awards: The Hero & Rising Star Awards are the most prestigious awards granted under the Women’s Alliance\, recognizing women who are the very definition of a “servant leader”. These recipients continually prioritize their commitment to their community by paving the way for others to create change while leaving a legacy. To learn more about the Hero and Rising Awards and their past recipients\, click here. \nScholarships:The Dr. Judith J. Carrier Scholarship Program is dedicated to cultivating and developing the next generation of women leaders by awarding over $19\,000 in scholarships this year. Scholarship applications are now closed. \nOptional Professional Development: Each year\, we provide an optional professional development for our IWL attendees to get the most out of their experience. We are thrilled with our Lift as You Climb Panel this year who will be discussing the importance bringing others up with you. Our panel will be announced soon! The session has a maximum capacity of 150 attendees. Make sure to reserve your seat! There is a separate fee of $20 per attendee\, register here. You can only attend this session if you are attending the full luncheon.  \nSponsors: We are incredibly thankful to all of our sponsors. Please take a moment to scroll through all of them below. We appreciate each business that supports the amazing causes of the Greater Arlington Chamber and the Women’s Alliance. If you would like to sponsor IWL\, please contact Sherry Jackson.

SUMMARY:11th Annual Inspired Women Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Event sold out. Please contact Sherry Jackson to be put on a waiting list.  \nJoin the Women’s Alliance of the Greater Arlington Chamber for the 11th Annual Inspired Women Luncheon\, affectionately known as IWL. Join us in person on Friday\, March 4 at 11:30 at Live! by Loews Arlington for this fantastic event presented by Chase. This event has A LOT jam-packed into the day\, and we’ve laid out all the details below. \nEvent Schedule:\n9:30-10:30   Professional Development (separate fee of $20)\n10:30-11:30  Event Registration\, Silent Auction\, Bling Box Sales and Networking\n11:30-1:30   Luncheon with Keynote Address and Awards Presentations (Scholarships\, Small Business Grant\, Hero & Rising Star Awards) \nGrit & Grace: As women\, we hold ourselves to a higher standard to not crack under pressure\, to balance a million different tasks\, to always be on. We strive to be our best selves even during the rockiest of times. Over the past two years\, we’ve learned to not only give others grace but show ourselves grace. To be resilient\, we need to take it one step at a time and accept that we may falter. We can and will get through anything as long as we embrace a life of Grit and Grace. \nKeynote Speaker: Award-winning entrepreneur\, Kenya Mobley\, is the owner of On Track Truck Driving School. She has made history by being the first female to own a truck driving school in Arlington\, Texas. Motivated by her humble beginnings and determination to beat the odds\, as once a teenage mother\, she founded the Code Purple organization to mentor teenage mothers. Mobley is also the author of a motivational journal titled\, One Step Closer – 90 Day Guide to Self-Love. She is a powerful motivational speaker who has been featured in many articles and has won several awards including the Live Life Epic Award and the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce’s 2020 Quest for Success Award. We’re also proud to have her as an active member of the Greater Arlington Chamber. This year’s Bling Box features a stainless steel bracelet engraved with I am Grit & Grace on the inside. The beautiful thing about this bracelet is\, we want you to pass it along. You may know someone going through a hard time. Give this to them as a reminder to be resilient\, to help them get through whatever they may be going through at the moment. Tell them to pass it along once they find someone who needs that message reinforced. Embracing a life of Grit & Grace isn’t a message just for today; it’s a message for every day\, the good and the bad\, to be tough and to be kind. To not take things too personally and to understand we all make mistakes\, including ourselves. \nScholarships: This year\, the Women’s Alliance is thrilled to be awarding $17\,500 in college scholarships this year to current undergraduate\, graduate and nursing students. To learn more\, click here. Applications closed December 10\, 2021. \nOptional Professional Development: Each year\, we provide an optional professional development for our IWL attendees to get the most out of their experience. We are thrilled with our Grit & Grace Panel this year who will be discussing the key moment in their career when they learned the importance of granting themselves grace and using determination to persevere through a situation. Our panel includes five fabulous speakers: Dr. Kimberley Cantu\, MISD Superintendent; Commissioner Devan Allen\, Tarrant County Precinct 2; Carmenza Moreno\, Chick-Fil-A Owner; and Shelli Walker\, PeopleResults as well as our moderator\, Cindy Salter.
