The Rotary Club of Arlington received a standing ovation this past May with their Inaugural “Dancing with the Arlington Stars” raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. After donating to the original dozen charities participating in the event, they want to broaden their impact by providing grants to local nonprofits. Grant applications are now open to any nonprofit headquartered and serving the Arlington area.
Grants will be awarded to nonprofits with a project or program that fall into one of the six following categories:
- Human Development: Empowering people in need to improve their lives
- Culture: Cultivating, developing, educating and improving the cultural climate in Arlington
- Environment:
- Improving, enhancing, restoring or conserving the natural resources in Arlington
- Promoting the protection and welfare of animals
- Encouraging research, public awareness and education related to environment and animals
- Education: Furthering the ability to educate and improve education in Arlington
- Family: Strengthening and enhancing the lives of children and families in Arlington
- Health and Wellness: Positively impacting the mental or physical health and wellness of the people in Arlington

The grants subcommittee will grade all requests through a comprehensive analysis. Recommendations will be made for approval to the Rotary Club Board of Directors before the funds are disbursed.
