Black Business Alliance
About the Black Business Alliance
The Black Business Alliance (BBA) is an outreach of the Greater Arlington Chamber that focuses on empowering black business owners and black professionals through education, professional development, awareness, leadership and engagement. BBA is committed to strengthening the black community as professional, business and civic leaders. To learn more about the origin of this group, Click Here.
To be a member of the Black Business Alliance, one must be a member in good standing of the Chamber. We ask that you be of Black/African-American heritage. If you have an employee that qualifies, please consider asking them to be a part of this group. If employed by a corporate member, the member must have the formal endorsement of his/her employer.
Business and Networking Opportunities
The Black Business Alliance is committed to build the Black business community within the greater Arlington area, and offers the opportunity to build valuable relationships while supporting critical initiatives that ensure business success. BBA achieves this mission through our subcommittees (listed below) and encourage our members to serve in one or more areas.
Minority Business Development: the BBA provides mentorship and capacity building for new businesses to succeed and thrive in Arlington.
Leadership Cultivation: the BBA proudly supports the cultivation of a diverse pipeline of leaders in the Arlington community. BBA achieves this by annually sponsoring candidates to go through the Leadership Arlington class.
Education & Workforce Development: the BBA provides Bound for Opportunity activities and supports the efforts of education and workforce development programs to ensure we have impact in reducing the number of at-risk students and fostering the next generation of talent in our community.
Unity & Philanthropy: the BBA provides networking opportunities and ways for the group to give back to the Arlington community through our partnerships with local organizations.
As a Chamber Member Group, the BBA hosts professional development luncheons each year. These luncheons are a great resource to Chamber member and non-members alike. Three times a year, these luncheons will showcase topics selected by the BBA Advisory Council and will have speakers presenting on topics the Council feels are important to the growth and success of our members.
