Galactic Performance Solutions, Southern Flair Photography, Dental Health Arlington and IKids Pediatric Dentistry to be Honored at June 12 Luncheon

ARLINGTON, TX – May 8, 2014 - The Arlington Chamber of Commerce announces four recipients for the 2014 Arlington Small Businesses of the Year Awards.


Galactic Performance Solutions - Based in Arlington since 1992, Galactic is a leader in the group travel incentives and loyalty program solutions providing service in over four continents.

Southern Flair Photography – Family-owned Southern Flair has been the community’s leading photography business having been established in 1976.


Dental Health Arlington - Service provides low-cost dental care to low income families. Serving more than 9,000 children a year in Title I elementary schools, the clinic relies on volunteer dentists and clinicians to operate 5-days a week.


IKids Pediatric Dentistry - Dr. Randy Hamilton opened the growing “kid-friendly” practice in Arlington in 2011 after serving in the U.S. Air Force. Graduating top in his class, he was stationed at McConnell AFB after residency at Sheppard AFB.

The Chamber’s criteria for selection of the Small Businesses of the Year included growth, relevant innovation, and contributions toward building a sustainable community. The recipients will be honored at the June 12 “Spirit of America: 2014 Salute to Small Business” luncheon hosted by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Administration and The North Texas Small Business Development Center.
“We are proud to recognize the significant accomplishments of all of our award recipients” stated Wes Jurey, President and CEO of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. “Our businesses of the year are managed by bright and highly motivated people who are committed to superior service and making a difference in the lives of their customers and the community.”
The “Salute to Small Business” luncheon will be held at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel commencing at 11:30 a.m. with business-building seminars and an “Expo” before and after the luncheon.  The ceremony will be emceed by local television celebrity Scott Murray and feature a keynote discussion with John Avila. After retiring as Army Brigadier General, Mr. Avila managed The Ballpark in Arlington project and in 1994 bought the Thos. S. Byrne construction company that today exemplifies the highest industry standards.

Businesses are encouraged to participate in the “Salute to Small Business,” as both public and private small businesses representing 72 counties from North Texas will be honored at the event. The Small Business Administration will recognize the Small Business Person of the Year, Owner of the Year, Women in Business Champion of the Year, Veteran’s Business of the Year, Minority Small Business of the Year, and others. Winners are from Arlington, Dallas, Fort Worth, Wichita Falls, Longview, Tyler and Cedar Hill.
