The Arlington Chamber of Commerce announces the recipients of the 2013 Small Businesses of the Year Awards. They are Bob Moore Construction, Inc. and Girls Inc. of Tarrant County; selected for their achievements, innovativeness, response to adversity and contributions to aid community-oriented projects. The awards will be presented at the May 23 “Spirit of America: 2013 Salute to Small Business” hosted by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and The North Texas Small Business Development Center.

Women’s Alliance sets Nov. 9 event

The Women’s Alliance of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, the fastest-growing group within the chamber’s ranks, is celebrating its second year with a luncheon on Nov. 9 that will honor achievements of local women along with a program examining the challenges that busy women confront in today’s hectic environments. The Arlington Chamber of Commerce and the Arlington Rotarians announce the inaugural Arlington New Year’s Eve Benefit Gala to be held December 31, 2012. The Benefit Gala supports key education initiatives of both entities – the Chamber’s Partners in Education and the Arlington Rotary Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund. The Center For Innovation (CFI) is pleased to be hosting the 18th annual National Association of Seed and Venture Funds (NASVF) Conference. The conference, going through Wednesday at the Arlington Sheraton, features leaders of government innovation capital, state and regional funding programs, and angel and venture capital organizations working to advance innovation through new capital programs.
